Actually I want to test how Yahoo can provide domain name for 2.49$ (as I know that actual domain price is near 8$). To try this I sign-up with Yahoo Small Business and registered the domain. The first year went well, Fantastic!!!, Great!!!, Ys because they given free Domain Forwarding, Free DNS Management etc. and the problem came at the time of renewal.
Before 3 weeks of my domain expiry I got a reminder letter from Yahoo saying that the domain will be auto renewed after this date, and going to charge about 15$. So now I understand their 2.49$ promo. So I transferred the domain name to our company, and the process went smooth. At the actual domain renewal date I got the mail from Yahoo saying that domain renewal amount is charged from my credit card. I wondered how they can renew a domain which is not under their control, so I tried to contact Yahoo Customer Care, OOOPS the only option to contact Yahoo customer care is “call back”, we have to submit our issue details and give our contact number so they will call back us. Registered 2, 3 times no call back, tried behind this few days no result. So I give-up no more trying…
One more year passed same like before I got the reminder letter from Yahoo saying that this year they are going to charge 18$ for renewal and going to auto charge from my credit card. What? Yes it’s true it’s not a fake email. I logged to my Yahoo and tried to delete my credit card information from there, and I can’t do that, only option to Add/Edit card. And same process, tried to contact Yahoo Customer Care same call back option got some reference code and got some message saying that Yahoo is going to call in 5 mints. What ever time I wait that’s waste, same thing happened they charged my card 🙁
So now I think the only option is to delete the Yahoo Small Business account, I did that. Let’s see they are going to charge me this year or not.
